The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Eric Târban kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arif Oğuz Cantürk. That made the score 2-2 in the 27 minute of play. Arif Oğuz Cantürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Oxarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Târban's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arif Oğuz Cantürk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Eric Târban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burnley FC made a substitution. Enzo Proietti replaced Cristoforo Capuozzi. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adam Huchro was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Niki Lauda put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Arif Oğuz Cantürk. In the 56th minute, Alex Zeciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIVER made a substitution. Pipo Benedetto replaced Eric Târban. The supporters of RIVER booed when Burnley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Zeciu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domingo Remigio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niki Lauda in the 81st minute of play forced Burnley FC's goalkeeper Arif Oğuz Cantürk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Epifani in the 84th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arif Oğuz Cantürk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niki Lauda went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. RIVER's Wu Li Zhi was substituted for Niki Lauda. Wu Li Zhi scored 8-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arif Oğuz Cantürk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. RIVER's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
