Saverio Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Ordóñez Zalaca made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saverio Ribeiro got free with Ordóñez Zalaca in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ordóñez Zalaca. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Todd Griffiths was the one to do the kick off. Ordóñez Zalaca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saverio Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. David Ozaolaza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lennie Rusby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
