The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Talcampeón FC's Marcelino Fritz in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Academia B.F.'s goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Primo Sans came free, but Carlos Alberto Villa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johan Vollander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Paredes in the 15th minute of play. Johan Vollander was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcelino Fritz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 24th minute Lolo Acharan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Vollander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Lolo Acharan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Academia B.F.'s zone, Lolo Acharan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johan Vollander came out of the goal and Lolo Acharan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Alberto Villa came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia B.F.'s Primo Sans. But to his dismay, Primo Sans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Yeray Necochea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Vollander having to interfere. Johan Vollander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Paredes in the 42nd minute. Eladio Sarmiento hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. A collision led to Talcampeón FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Damario Ferrada hit a great ball. The Talcampeón FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Academia B.F. were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lolo Acharan to make the kick off. Academia B.F.'s Primo Sans got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lolo Acharan came free, but Johan Vollander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Mikel Señoret ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johan Vollander was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Johan Vollander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lolo Acharan in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Paredes in the 65th minute of play forced Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Johan Vollander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lolo Acharan in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johan Vollander saved Academia B.F. from getting behind. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Talcampeón FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Academia B.F.:s goal. After some careless play in the Talcampeón FC defense, Michel Totti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Alberto Villa. The Talcampeón FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Alberto Villa should have stopped the shot.
