The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Amaranthus booed when Deportivo Mandiyu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Honrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anton Brander came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Mandiyu's Chiquito Benítez. But to his dismay, Chiquito Benítez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Amaranthus's Anton Brander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Bronco in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Arne Bronco made a precise shot to the right of Anton Brander. Amaranthus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Bronco in the 17th minute of play forced Amaranthus's goalkeeper Anton Brander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Jaen struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Eulalio Bastian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amaranthus. Deportivo Mandiyu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquito Benítez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Deportivo Mandiyu's Chiquito Benítez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A sloppy throw-in by Alberto Honrio in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Amaranthus's Vilhelm Axelsson. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chiquito Benítez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Deportivo Mandiyu's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
