The audience thought a goal was coming when Phillip McKeochan got free with Ariel Venerando in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Smiddy Celts's Ariel Venerando threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paddy Thomson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 22 minutes into the game, Gugu de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Road To Glory's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smiddy Celts the free kick. Leonardo Gaspard hit a great ball. Ariel Venerando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paddy Thomson in the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Road To Glory's zone, Sean McDrain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Venerando came out of the goal and Sean McDrain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the game, Smiddy Celts's Paddy Thomson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ariel Venerando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 95 minutes into the match, Road To Glory's goal looked a bit too open when Paddy Thomson came free, but Ariel Venerando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Smiddy Celts players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
