When Peder Nyqvist fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westenenk's protests and gave Peder Nyqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Peder Nyqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Westenenk's Jaap van der Schans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edoardo Pascucci in the 23rd minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valio Tammisto made a kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Daniele Bucciarelli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Westenenk's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Merceron United had won, even though Westenenk had held more of the ball.
