Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC's Narciso Jerardo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 17th minute, Cristian Santamaria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kim-André van der Schans was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sílvio Luiz Goiano made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Remzi Oruz sent off a good shot on target. Leopoldo Noyola hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Carmelo Sifon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kim-André van der Schans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remzi Oruz in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Luiz Goiano saved Real Madrid de Guatemala from getting behind. Kim-André van der Schans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Sifon in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Narciso Jerardo hit a great ball. Carmelo Sifon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kim-André van der Schans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Cristian Santamaria scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kim-André van der Schans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC's Kim-André van der Schans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Sifon in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Real Madrid de Guatemala were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remzi Oruz to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Leopoldo Noyola got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Sílvio Luiz Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorio Geleberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Cristian Santamaria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kim-André van der Schans having to make a save. Sílvio Luiz Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Tono in the 58th minute of play. Narciso Jerardo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Anselmo Nazario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Real Madrid de Guatemala getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sasho Inkyov hit a great ball. Sílvio Luiz Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remzi Oruz in the 88th minute of play. Kim-André van der Schans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Santamaria in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC booed when Real Madrid de Guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Sifon didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Santamaria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Real Madrid de Guatemala were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
