Rayland FC's Roger Bannister was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mircea Calboreanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Rayland FC booed when FC U Cluj-N was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Trifan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu got control of the ball when Roger Bannister tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Remus Turcu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Joel Bertol made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, FC U Cluj-N's goal looked a bit too open when Reynardo Salto came free, but Mircea Calboreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC U Cluj-N walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
