Mesut Özil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Godfredo Abarca made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Sarmento in the 90th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Sarmento in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg August Hoffmanns saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximilian Henning during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
