The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Dobsko SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wasyl Drab to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milosz Bojanowski in the 12th minute of play forced City Friseur Wuppertal's goalkeeper Xu Yi Lei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Paulo Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avram Stegaru in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes Dobsko SSA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Waldemar Ryback who took care of the corner kick. 19 minutes into the match, Dobsko SSA's goal looked a bit too open when Albi Martínez came free, but Luiz Paulo Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, City Friseur Wuppertal's goalkeeper Xu Yi Lei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radowit Borkowski. Xu Yi Lei was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Radowit Borkowski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Radowit Borkowski really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 25th minute Baldomero Mancio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xu Yi Lei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Paulo Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albi Martínez in the 27th minute of the match. City Friseur Wuppertal's Albi Martínez got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabian Zieba charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Zieba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes Dobsko SSA got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Zieba. In the 30th minute Albi Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Paulo Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albi Martínez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albi Martínez, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 40th minute Albi Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albi Martínez in the 40th minute of play forced Dobsko SSA's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute City Friseur Wuppertal were awarded a corner. Waldemar Ryback went to the cornerflag to take it. Milosz Bojanowski struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Xu Yi Lei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dobsko SSA. City Friseur Wuppertal's Nebi Tokyürek was substituted for Avram Stegaru. In the 46th minute Albi Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milosz Bojanowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xu Yi Lei having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Ryback stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Dobsko SSA got a freekick which was hit by Edmund Domalik. A hard shot by Nebi Tokyürek from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Luiz Paulo Alcântara's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Waldemar Ryback managed to get in a good position for a shot. City Friseur Wuppertal's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldemar Ryback was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Paulo Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. City Friseur Wuppertal's Tarkan Ushan was substituted for Mehmet Oğuz Bayramoğlu. 61 minutes into the game, Stefan Tomiczek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Xu Yi Lei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 70 minutes, Stefan Tomiczek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dobsko SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Tomiczek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Albi Martínez put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Paulo Alcântara. Waldemar Ryback received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Luiz Paulo Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rony Schmidt made a great header on Dobsko SSA's corner, it was just that City Friseur Wuppertal's Xu Yi Lei managed to reach the ball for a save. 86 minutes into the match, Rony Schmidt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xu Yi Lei. City Friseur Wuppertal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rony Schmidt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 90th minute, City Friseur Wuppertal's Waldemar Ryback ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luiz Paulo Alcântara. Luiz Paulo Alcântara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Åke Kilman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Luiz Paulo Alcântara made a huge save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
