Dale Nelson was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Bogdan Bogdanović capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bogdan Bogdanović really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The supporters of AFC Wimbledon Wombles booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10thth minute of the game Bogdan Bogdanović who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Wimbledon Wombles's Dale Nelson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emanuel Robescu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Club 23's Sören Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Dunn in the 19th minute of play. After 21 minutes, Druțu Daniel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club 23 and the AFC Wimbledon Wombles players grew even worse after the yellow card. Druțu Daniel hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Dale Nelson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cássio Dracena in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Bogdan Bogdanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Nelson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dale Nelson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bogdan Bogdanović showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Club 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Dracena to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Bogdanović in the 36th minute of play forced AFC Wimbledon Wombles's goalkeeper Dale Nelson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Jon Newman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFC Wimbledon Wombles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sidney Dunn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, AFC Wimbledon Wombles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daryl Fairs to maneuver through the defense. Sören Malmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Dunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bogdan Bogdanović might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dale Nelson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bogdan Bogdanović ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee felt a red card was in order, 62 minutes into the game, when Daryl Fairs put in a rough tackle. In the 62nd minute, one of AFC Wimbledon Wombles:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AFC Wimbledon Wombles. Dale Nelson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bogdan Bogdanović went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the AFC Wimbledon Wombles defense, Bogdan Bogdanović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dale Nelson. The AFC Wimbledon Wombles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dale Nelson should have stopped the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Bogdan Bogdanović had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dale Nelson. AFC Wimbledon Wombles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bogdan Bogdanović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. If Bogdan Bogdanović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Nelson came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Club 23's Bogdan Bogdanović. But to his dismay, Bogdan Bogdanović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Bogdan Bogdanović took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dale Nelson. Dale Nelson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. Club 23's Bogdan Bogdanović got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bogdan Bogdanović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Nelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Bogdan Bogdanović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club 23 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Bogdan Bogdanović managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club 23's supporters rose to their feet, but Bogdan Bogdanović was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Nelson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferdinand Voicu during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Club 23 got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Voicu. After having played for 98 minutes, Brendon Crouch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Wimbledon Wombles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Crouch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the AFC Wimbledon Wombles players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club 23.
