Marcus Hagström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Curicó-Unido were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Rank 1's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Román Hoefler took the corner. Curicó-Unido's Román Hoefler was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcus Hagström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 16th minute Román Hoefler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Hagström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conny Vesterberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Julio Tinoco made a huge save. Marcus Hagström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Urtungo in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Curicó-Unido booed when Rank 1 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Antonini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Blas Urtungo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Hagström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Hagström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elías Albornoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Julio Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredric Åhman in the 24th minute of the match. A hard shot 27 in the game by Mustafa Anıl Kayansel from a close distance when the talented Julio Tinoco managed to make a qualified save. Curicó-Unido's players were relieved. Marcel Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Curicó-Unido's goalkeeper Julio Tinoco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mustafa Anıl Kayansel. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Conny Vesterberg took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Julio Tinoco to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Rank 1's Felix Curtis got a free kick in the 47th minute. In the 48thth minute of the game Eduardo Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rank 1's Marcus Hagström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conny Vesterberg to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Blas Urtungo sped through Rank 1's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcus Hagström. A collision led to Rank 1 getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Dick Lindgren hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Román Hoefler got free with Marcus Hagström in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Curicó-Unido's Juan Raúl Falcón was substituted for Visen Mattensohn. 69 minutes into the match, Curicó-Unido's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Antonini came free, but Julio Tinoco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes, Román Hoefler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curicó-Unido and the Rank 1 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Curicó-Unido got a freekick which was hit by Román Hoefler. Curicó-Unido made a substitution. Hipolito Angeloni replaced Álvaro Zambujal. Román Hoefler kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Curicó-Unido booed when Rank 1 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Beckman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Curicó-Unido got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Vargas. Julio Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Vesterberg in the 82nd minute of play. Julio Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dick Lindgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Román Hoefler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Curicó-Unido had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
