Evripidis Tachtsidis charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Chan Clet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guo Han Di was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Wlodzimierz Rawa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sune Axelsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. Guo Han Di made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chan Clet in the 36th minute of play. Zhao Yao Ying's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wlodzimierz Rawa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 45 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Chan Clet came free, but Guo Han Di reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wlodzimierz Rawa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zhao Yao Ying in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zhao Yao Ying made the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Green Horses got a freekick which was hit by Evaggelos Keratakis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Yao Ying in the 61st minute of play forced Green Horses's goalkeeper Wlodzimierz Rawa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wlodzimierz Rawa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Yao Ying in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Hodei. Oldham Athletic's William Tingelholm was substituted for Filippo Bobbio. Oldham Athletic's Cristian-Federico Dolić was substituted for Sune Axelsson. In the 83rd minute, one of Green Horses:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Green Horses. Wlodzimierz Rawa had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Gösta Brolin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 86th minute, Konstantinos Kostoulas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Oldham Athletic's Braulio Hodei got a free kick in the 91st minute. Notis Bartzokas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Guo Han Di tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Babbis Markatos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
