In the 13th minute of the match, Cezary Kasiewski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joel Tolsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ludomir Zacharek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Joel Tolsson made a huge save. GKS Katowice were furious when Herminio Umea was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GKS Katowice! In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for BK Värdsholmen. Tage Brodin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amadeo Roma. 0-1. Amadeo Roma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Norberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to GKS Katowice getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ludomir Zacharek hit a great ball. BK Värdsholmen's Roger Norberg got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustaf Snäll charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustaf Snäll the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when BK Värdsholmen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaf Snäll didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half BK Värdsholmen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roger Norberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Bo-Erik Grelsson made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 53rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Amadeo Roma would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Tage Brodin managed to get in a good position for a shot. BK Värdsholmen's supporters rose to their feet, but Tage Brodin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. GKS Katowice's Amadeo Roma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Norberg in the 82nd minute of play. If Roger Norberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th minute, Borys Kiszkiel made a precise shot to the right of Joel Tolsson. BK Värdsholmen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Ludomir Zacharek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Håkan Eklund in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by GKS Katowice's Olgierd Sokolski. The audience was convinced that Roger Norberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeo Roma was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. BK Värdsholmen succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though GKS Katowice had controlled the match.
