Chipa y Tereré's goalkeeper Leonides Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Club A. Chipa y Tereré's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Diniz came free, but Leonides Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Vágner Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olari Mõniste hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute of the match Ernesto Alagoano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Velasco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Leonides Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vágner Diniz in the 28th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Diniz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
