An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Paraense in the 21st minute of play forced RoBen FC's goalkeeper Jerom Smoors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Barra EC's Remy Sanderson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerom Smoors narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Ismael Paraense put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jerom Smoors. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válter Lopes in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerom Smoors prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Adolf Jamieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerom Smoors made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Lopes in the 72nd minute of play. Barra EC were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after RoBen FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dênis Fantini took the corner. Jerom Smoors came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute of the match Barra EC got a corner. RoBen FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dênis Fantini ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jerom Smoors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natanael Souza in the 94th minute of the match.
