Franco Bosso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Naike, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee ignored Vélez Juniors's protests and gave Tiburcio Quinteros a yellow card for diving instead. Franco Bosso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Naike in the 29th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Naike in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Bosso saved CLC Winter from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Enzo Oroni managed to get in a good position for a shot. CLC Winter's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Oroni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Vitin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dennis Berardi during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Bertoni in the 47th minute of play. In the 65th minute Ennio Di Iulio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
