In the 24th match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severo Maule to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Orzaize came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ur Cabral in the 41st minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Orzaize in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Naike was the one to do the kick off. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Orzaize, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vélez Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jonas Ordono was slow to take the kick. During this time Sαηgrε Azuɭ's players had a chance to rest. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elvio Checa in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernhardt Reshauge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Naike to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Orzaize came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
