Spectators: 7728 (Terracing: 5797, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 154) Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Augusto Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubén Urruti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teodosio Sergi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francesc Balmaseda. Miguel Godoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Teodosio Sergi made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Auriolam II C.F.'s Cayetano Pagomari got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 20th minute of play forced Auriolam II C.F.'s goalkeeper Rubén Urruti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Auriolam II C.F.'s Pelayo Porrata got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Teodosio Sergi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Godoy in the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Auriolam II C.F.'s zone, Augusto Cordario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubén Urruti came out of the goal and Augusto Cordario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute of the match Gabri Gutierrez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teodosio Sergi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Augusto Cordario struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Rubén Urruti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velez Sarsfield. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Auriolam II C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabri Gutierrez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Augusto Cordario left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half Velez Sarsfield were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Miguel Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 56 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Francesc Balmaseda came free, but Teodosio Sergi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Velez Sarsfield's attentive Marcos Pacifico managed to snatch the ball when Gabri Gutierrez made a throw-in in the 57th minute of the game. Augusto Cordario received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rubén Urruti came out and tried to block the shot, but Augusto Cordario slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 58th minute. With a little luck, Auriolam II C.F.'s Rubén Urruti got control of the ball when Augusto Cordario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubén Urruti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Cordario in the 67th minute of play. Auriolam II C.F.'s Pelayo Mendez was substituted for Sven-Erik Söderberg. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Auriolam II C.F.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filomeno Montrell was slow to take the kick. During this time Velez Sarsfield's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Augusto Cordario almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Auriolam II C.F.'s Rubén Urruti did a great save. If Augusto Cordario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Teodosio Sergi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Godoy in the 76th minute of the match. Teodosio Sergi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Godoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Cordario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubén Urruti having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Augusto Cordario could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Rubén Urruti however easily saved by the left post. Ignacio Berenguer hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Velez Sarsfield made a substitution. Arnoldo Mel replaced Ignacio Berenguer. Auriolam II C.F. made a substitution. Jesús Perera replaced Miguel Godoy. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ignacio Berenguer hit a great ball. When Augusto Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Cordario couldn't finish the play. Rubén Urruti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Cordario in the 87th minute. In the 91st match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mart Laar to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Cordarios short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Rubén Urruti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
