When Leonard Treppa came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Tirant lo Blanch fans jumped to their feet. Tirant lo Blanch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonard Treppa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristopher de Alcântara in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kamal Pahlevi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, Tirant lo Blanch's goal looked a bit too open when Cristopher de Alcântara came free, but Kamal Pahlevi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimiro Gago hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonard Treppa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zeferino Diegues. When Vladimiro Gago fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minho FC's protests and gave Vladimiro Gago a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Minho FC's Vladimiro Gago got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Leonard Treppa made the kick off in the second half.
