Eero Uusipaavalniemi came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronaldo Giovanelli could save by the left post. In the 14th minute, Paulo Renato Saraiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Galo do Japi from getting a goal against them. Galo do Japi's attentive Cléberson Lara managed to snatch the ball when Gary Neville made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. Ronaldo Giovanelli came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Valdemar Kuoppala. But to his dismay, Valdemar Kuoppala quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taisto Pentsinen in the 30th minute of play. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Ronaldo Giovanelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 34th minute. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edwin van der Sar having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Galo do Japi's protests and gave Carlos Santana a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Carlos Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Ronaldo Giovanelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Kuoppala in the 58th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Davide Beckham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Davide Beckham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldo Giovanelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aarre Uusiniemi made in the 65th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Davide Beckham however managed to control. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 70th minute of play. Galo do Japi were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Manchester United FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cafu Ringaa took the corner. 79 minutes into the game, Manchester United FC's Erik Cantona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronaldo Giovanelli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Kuoppala in the 82nd minute of the match. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Galo do Japi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eero Uusipaavalniemi was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester United FC's players had a chance to rest. Ronaldo Giovanelli came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Erik Cantona. But to his dismay, Erik Cantona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Aarre Uusiniemi got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Davide Beckham. Eero Uusipaavalniemi scored 4-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Giovanelli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Manchester United FC had played much better football throughout.
