In the 23rd minute, one of Club Atlético de Newell:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atlético de Newell. Club Atlético de Newell:s Matthieu Abelard showed great skill when he stopped Grabiel Escorcia:s penalty. Grabiel Escorcia took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matthieu Abelard. Matthieu Abelard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Grabiel Escorcia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthieu Abelard having to make a save. In the 30thth minute of the game Grabiel Escorcia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético de Newell's Matthieu Abelard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grabiel Escorcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Grabiel Escorcia notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Club Atlético de Newell's Matthieu Abelard. Matthieu Abelard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matthieu Abelard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 40th minute of play. Simon Sundling hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético de Newell's zone, Grabiel Escorcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthieu Abelard came out of the goal and Grabiel Escorcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Grabiel Escorcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthieu Abelard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grabiel Escorcia ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Grabiel Escorcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matthieu Abelard was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Juaneizu Merida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olly Nethercot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 76th minute of the match Club Atlético de Newell got a corner. Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Harry Carson ran over to the corner to take the kick. 80 minutes into the game, Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthieu Abelard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. In the 84th play minute Joseph Gayoso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matthieu Abelard. 1-7. In the 87th match minute, Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xu Sha to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Bobby Bear left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-7. Grabiel Escorcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthieu Abelard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grabiel Escorcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Matthieu Abelard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Club Atlético de Newell supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nacional's performance. The match ended with a win for Nacional.
