AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Bear in the 14th minute of play. In the 21stth minute of the game Olly Nethercot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Bobby Bear came free, but Arlindo Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Club Atlético de Newell were awarded a corner. Harry Carson went to the cornerflag to take it. Amanda Hoffs made a great header on Club Atlético de Newell's corner, it was just that AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes managed to reach the ball for a save. Club Atlético de Newell's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Harry Carson in the 26th minute. Arlindo Guedes made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Hugo Alexandersen sent off a good shot on target. Club Atlético de Newell's Matthieu Abelard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 29th minute of play. Club Atlético de Newell were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after AF CERRADO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harry Carson took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Harry Carson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arlindo Guedes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 33 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Moreira. In the 37th minute, Harry Carson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Contaldi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matthieu Abelard. Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Antônio Carlos Bueno kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Nestor Hermes hit a great ball. In the 45th minute of the match Harry Carson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arlindo Guedes skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes got control of the ball when Hugo Alexandersen tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olly Nethercot made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Hugo Alexandersen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Alexandersen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olly Nethercot in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arlindo Guedes saved AF CERRADO from getting behind. Marcos Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthieu Abelard having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Antônio Carlos Bueno took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Matthieu Abelard to make any attempt to save it. 67 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Olly Nethercot came free, but Arlindo Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AF CERRADO's Murilo Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AF CERRADO's Thiago Damião was substituted for Marcos Paulista. AF CERRADO made a substitution. Elano Tande replaced Dennis Contaldi. Arlindo Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Bear, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arlindo Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Alexandersen, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Arlindo Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Alexandersen in the 78th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bobby Bear's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arlindo Guedes was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matthieu Abelard in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arlindo Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Bear, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Matthieu Abelard managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Club Atlético de Newell supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AF CERRADO's performance. The match ended with a win for AF CERRADO.
