In the 22nd minute of the match, Miladin Kirichev got a very nice opportunity to score, but Daniel Sbârcea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Miladin Kirichev could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Daniel Sbârcea however easily saved by the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Oskar Walroth came free, but Daniel Sbârcea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Sbârcea made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Ernesto Belarmo sent off a good shot on target. Vinicio Revuelta kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Ernesto Belarmo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Daniel Sbârcea made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Per-Oskar Walroth made a kick off. In the 55th minute Miladin Kirichev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Sbârcea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Fernando Manzano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lukács Bánhegyi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Sbârcea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Belarmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Manzano during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miladin Kirichev in the 80th minute of play forced Orihuela Club de Fútbol's goalkeeper Daniel Sbârcea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernando Manzano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miladin Kirichev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Orihuela Club de Fútbol were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Hungarian Olympic side.
