The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Maksymilian Drapinski the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Zacisze Częstochowa protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Maksymilian Drapinski had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 2nd minute, one of Zacisze Częstochowa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zacisze Częstochowa. Miroslaw Gollob had in the 4thth minute some difficulties stopping Karl Trulsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jurand Cempa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saveliy Elin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute Torbjörn Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miroslaw Gollob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
