Luiz Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. But to his dismay, Tor Hjeltman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Luiz Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André-Pierre Gignac in the 10th minute of play. Serafino Jurdan was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Tor Hjeltman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tor Hjeltman really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ROSÁRIO SPORT were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Newells Old Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tor Hjeltman took the corner. In the 22nd minute ROSÁRIO SPORT were awarded a corner. Tor Hjeltman went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 25th minute Tor Hjeltman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Serafino Jurdan made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Tor Hjeltman sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Tuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute of the match, Tony Dionísio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Serafino Jurdan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Serafino Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tor Hjeltman in the 37th minute of play. ROSÁRIO SPORT's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tor Hjeltman in the 38th minute. Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tor Hjeltman in the 42nd minute of play. ROSÁRIO SPORT were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Newells Old Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tor Hjeltman took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Sigvard Rosendal managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.

With a little luck, ROSÁRIO SPORT's Luiz Corrêa got control of the ball when André-Pierre Gignac tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luiz Corrêa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Blanco in the 62nd minute. If Cesar Cordairo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Yu Bin Yi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. After 83 played minutes ROSÁRIO SPORT got a freekick which was hit by Shao Lang Yan. Nildo da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Silverio Tuste received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luiz Corrêa came out and tried to block the shot, but Silverio Tuste slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 95th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Bin Yi came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ROSÁRIO SPORT fans cheered their team off the field, for while Newells Old Boys had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
