Didier Lafargue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Sayvion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Maxence Demay hit a great ball. Paulino Sayvion might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Didier Lafargue. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulino Sayvion ran back to his position shaking his head. Didier Lafargue showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Sayvion in the 17th minute of the match. The Old Boys's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miromir Dzerwucki in the 21st minute. Peter Belkå made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Toader in the 22nd minute of play. If Paulino Sayvion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mihail Toader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Peter Belkå tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulino Sayvion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 32 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Sayvion came free, but Didier Lafargue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Belkå stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cyrille Melon's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Maxence Demay hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute, Maxence Demay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didier Lafargue came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by The Old Boys's Paulino Sayvion. But to his dismay, Paulino Sayvion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 44th minute, Steven Durin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The Old Boys made a substitution. 杨宁卫 replaced 庄平战. The Old Boys's Oskar Törnblom was substituted for Cemal Palabıyık. The Old Boys's Jose Ignazio was substituted for Paulino Sayvion. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oskar Törnblom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, The Old Boys's Oskar Törnblom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Didier Lafargue made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a little luck, The Old Boys's Peter Belkå got control of the ball when Cyrille Melon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Didier Lafargue stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oskar Törnblom's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, 杨宁卫 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If 杨宁卫 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cyrille Melon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Belkå having to interfere. R.C. Marseille's Djibril Mourot was substituted for Mihail Toader. A hard shot 77 in the game by Joe Plantin from a close distance when the talented Peter Belkå managed to make a qualified save. The Old Boys's players were relieved. In the 83rd minute of the match R.C. Marseille got a corner. The Old Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Renan Bouzat ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led R.C. Marseille's Renan Bouzat to fire away a dangerous shot which Peter Belkå despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oskar Törnblom in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didier Lafargue prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Didier Lafargue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Törnblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 90 minutes, 杨宁卫 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but 杨宁卫 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. R.C. Marseille's Didier Lafargue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oskar Törnblom in the 92nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oskar Törnblom in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didier Lafargue prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The The Old Boys players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
