The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when GREEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Hill didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Calisto Flayre came free, but Reko Nybacka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 played minutes GREEN LIONS got a freekick which was hit by 狄正希. Merexildo Raimundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Reko Nybacka made a huge save. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Flayre in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goalkeeper Reko Nybacka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benny Hill. Tolis Prinianakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Catugi FC were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after GREEN LIONS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Benjamim Alvarenga took the corner. The corner ended in Benjamim Alvarenga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GREEN LIONS's Tolis Prinianakis did a great save. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reko Nybacka showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Calisto Flayre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Merexildo Raimundo got free with Reko Nybacka in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Catugi FC from getting a goal against them. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Flayre in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Catugi FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

GREEN LIONS's 袁棋荣 was substituted for Merexildo Raimundo. When Fabiano Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Catugi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabiano Maranhense couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute Calisto Flayre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reko Nybacka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Vicente Valladares in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by GREEN LIONS's Patryk Jazowski. 64 minutes into the match, GREEN LIONS's goalkeeper Tolis Prinianakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabiano Maranhense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Maranhense got free with Tolis Prinianakis in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benny Hill scored 1-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reko Nybacka, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fabiano Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Catugi FC fans jumped to their feet. Reko Nybacka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calisto Flayre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Benny Hill managed to get in a good position for a shot. GREEN LIONS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benny Hill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reko Nybacka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Carlos Alberto Soares got a free kick in the 94th minute. Despite being the better team, GREEN LIONS failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
