With a left leg A.J. 韩文海 saved Joinville Esporte Clube from getting behind. 16 minutes into the game, Benjamin Lara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jan Wessel. Benjamin Lara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dolf Schoonderwoerd came free, but A.J. 韩文海 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dolf Schoonderwoerd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of The Underdogs booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. René Peterek didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Benjamin Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jan Wessel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Uchiha in the 95th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
