One of National Team Cape-Verde:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fc Benefica:s goal. National Team Cape-Verde:s Pål Sefastsson showed great skill when he stopped Leandro Soares:s penalty. Leandro Soares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Pål Sefastsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Ture Asklöv hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Bennvar Post came free, but Taco Uebels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. National Team Cape-Verde were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Fc Benefica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fredric Melander took the corner. Fredric Melander made a great header on National Team Cape-Verde's corner, it was just that Fc Benefica's Taco Uebels managed to reach the ball for a save. Bennvar Post took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Taco Uebels. Taco Uebels dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. National Team Cape-Verde made a substitution. Klas Bergqvist replaced Fredric Melander. Leandro Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pål Sefastsson having to make a save. After 76 played minutes National Team Cape-Verde got a freekick which was hit by Anton Vibjörnsson. National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 79th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Karl-Oskar Björkdal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. National Team Cape-Verde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fc Benefica the free kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched National Team Cape-Verde eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
