The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mao Yan Yong during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Juniors FC booed when Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mao Yan Yong didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute, Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Todd Gronow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute of the match Juniors FC got a corner. Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wlodzimierz Lepper ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Todd Gronow sped through Juniors FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lázaro Colon. Lázaro Colon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Gronow in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Todd Gronow made a precise shot to the right of Lázaro Colon. Juniors FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 37 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Foro came free, but Lázaro Colon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Todd Gronow got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 47th minute Nicanor Porfirio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Janpier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Lázaro Colon was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Todd Gronow capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Todd Gronow really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Juniors FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Frasco in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Janpier saved Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC from getting behind. A collision led to Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Mao Yan Yong hit a great ball. Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Fabio Manuelo was substituted for Gerardo Etxepare. Juniors FC made a substitution. Jerzy Piszczor replaced Daniel Loi. Abelardo Janpier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wlodzimierz Lepper in the 68th minute of play. Ziemowit Chowaniec got a throw-in 73 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Todd Gronow. In the 86th match minute, Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inaki Mirabal to maneuver through the defense. Inaki Mirabal hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Nicanor Porfirio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Lange blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abelardo Janpier having to make a save. Abelardo Janpier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Lange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Humberto Lange ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Janpier was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
