The audience thought a goal was coming when Kevin Bernini got free with Koit Vaikma in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Bonet in the 43rd minute of play forced Vila's goalkeeper Koit Vaikma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dido Gorolomov to make the kick off. Koit Vaikma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Daustad. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vila had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
