Les Pionniers de Touraine's Mickaël Métenier quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 18th minute Raphaël Lallemand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Aberle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Les Pionniers de Touraine's Abraham Beauval in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Tanek Zurawski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Rutsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abraham Beauval to make the kick off.
