Rene Higuita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gábor Joó could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Damazy Mitus made a huge save. Valencia CF Mindszent's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christos Xenidis in the 21st minute. 25 minutes into the match, Valencia CF Mindszent's goal looked a bit too open when Saulius Mikalajūnas came free, but Rene Higuita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damazy Mitus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elek Bognár in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Lithuanian amber's Jeremias Castulo got a free kick in the 38th minute. Gábor Joó might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damazy Mitus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gábor Joó ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, Lithuanian amber's goalkeeper Damazy Mitus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gábor Joó.

The wind increased when Martin Budín made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Rivera had several of the Valencia CF Mindszent's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 51 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Rene Higuita as he didn't even see the shot coming. Damazy Mitus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gábor Joó in the 59th minute of play. Fernando Rivera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valencia CF Mindszent made a substitution. Konstantin Fitos replaced Gábor Joó. Lithuanian amber made a substitution. Vidmantas Ubartas replaced Saulius Mikalajūnas. The corner led Lithuanian amber's Sanson Villasinda to fire away a dangerous shot which Rene Higuita despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Fernando Rivera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Higuita having to interfere. Lithuanian amber's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
