Jon-Erik Ringvold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Real Helland booed when Martin Palermo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Felipillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvio Bazil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor-Kristian Seim in the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Martin Palermo F.C.'s zone, Przemyslaw Ciupierdo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Bazil came out of the goal and Przemyslaw Ciupierdo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guillermo Izquierdo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ole Meisingset fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvio Bazil having to interfere. In the 71st minute Tor-Kristian Seim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Przemyslaw Ciupierdo struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Silvio Bazil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Helland. Narcis Mustață kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Przemyslaw Ciupierdo in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvio Bazil saved Martin Palermo F.C. from getting behind. After 78 minutes, Przemyslaw Ciupierdo made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Bernardo Tofani kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvio Bazil. That made the score 0-5 in the 84 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ole Meisingset in the 89th minute of play forced Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvio Bazil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guillermo Izquierdo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Martin Palermo F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Real Helland's performance. The match ended with a win for Real Helland.
