Qin Sen Chen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stig Malmgren went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Qin Sen Chen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Ignacio Bugueño in the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Leopoldo Jacinto Diena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qin Sen Chen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Jacinto Diena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Qin Sen Chen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Juan Ignacio Bugueño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Qin Sen Chen having to interfere. Qin Sen Chen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Malmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 31 minutes in the game, Erdal Tamkoç dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Abdulkerim Bardakçı hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Stig Malmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as 1930 Bafraspor's Erdal Tamkoç slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Enrique Enoch. That made the score 1-3 after 42 minutes of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
