An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 18th minute of play forced El coca fc's goalkeeper Florencio Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Noguera in the 24th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Noguera in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Taffarel saved Marquês de Herval from getting behind. In the 26th minute Dorian Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Osasun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Noguera in the 31st minute of play. Florencio Osasun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Moraes in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match El coca fc got a corner. Marquês de Herval's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yakiv Revut ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Fernando Noguera heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Noguera in the 39th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florencio Osasun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Moraes in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Noguera to make the kick off. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Noguera in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Mattijs Robijns came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Fernando Noguera sped through Marquês de Herval's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dida Taffarel. In the 60thth minute of the game Claudio Noguera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Marquês de Herval defense, Mattijs Robijns kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dida Taffarel. The Marquês de Herval fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dida Taffarel should have stopped the shot. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Noguera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Marquês de Herval's zone, Claudio Noguera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal and Claudio Noguera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Florencio Osasun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 70 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Noguera came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Noguera, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Claudio Noguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Claudio Noguera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. If Dorian Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If German Cano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquês de Herval's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
