Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingemar Kilman made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Kilman in the 51st minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcial Munio got free with Carlisle Schultz in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, Fluminense DF could leave the field as winners, despite San Martin de Tucuman having more of the ball for most of the match.
