Misericordia EC's Bob Maravilha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Selmo in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Luciano Selmo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Misericordia EC's Bob Maravilha. Bob Maravilha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zico Maravilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Misericordia EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Faustão Terra in the 14th minute. Pedro Luís Amaral was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 19 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucuman's Luciano Selmo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bob Maravilha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Misericordia EC's Pedro Luís Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Paulino Lamberto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Martin de Tucuman fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Luciano Selmo got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 38 minutes into the match, Paulino Lamberto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bob Maravilha. Misericordia EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulino Lamberto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Severino Elorri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Maravilha having to interfere. Luciano Selmo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Bob Maravilha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Luciano Selmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Eugenio Orland replaced Ulises Dominguez. 79 minutes into the match, Marcial Munio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bob Maravilha, 0-5. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Marcial Munio took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Bob Maravilha to make any attempt to save it.
