William Rigg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Barrie Kerridge made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Barrie Kerridge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by William Rigg. 22 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when William Rigg came free, but Barrie Kerridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kim Bolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Barrie Kerridge came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by The Valar's William Rigg. But to his dismay, William Rigg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 37 minutes into the match, William Rigg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barrie Kerridge. Sliema Dragons FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Rigg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Kim Bolas made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Mederi. 56 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Bolas came free, but Emmanuel Canturri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Bolas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bolas in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emmanuel Canturri saved The Valar from getting behind. 63 minutes into the match, Kim Bolas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emmanuel Canturri, 2-2. William Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Barrie Kerridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Rigg, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 84 minutes into the match, The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dejan Cassar. Emmanuel Canturri was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Dejan Cassar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dejan Cassar really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. The The Valar fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sliema Dragons FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
