When Oswaldo Leão came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Shark FC - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Leão couldn't finish the play. Mauro Bezerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Glauco Velloso came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauro Bezerra slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Glauco Velloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauro Bezerra's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. After 53 minutes of play, Schuster's Musko Cuevas made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glauco Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Glauco Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Bezerra in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Schuster's Mauro Bezerra got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waldemar Vergílio got free with Donato Ali in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Schuster's Fernando Morientes was substituted for Mauro Bezerra. Schuster's Richy Hensmans was substituted for Musko Cuevas. The audience was convinced that Richy Hensmans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glauco Velloso was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, Schuster's Fernando Morientes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Glauco Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
