Barcellos Mineiro FC's Marcos Fantini got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tião Paraíba made in the 12th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dale Dolar however managed to control. 13 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Patricio Ugutz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andy Cole. 16 minutes into the game, Andy Cole recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patricio Ugutz. Andy Cole showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A very nice done corner allowed Andy Cole to score against Patricio Ugutz in Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal. 2-0 after 24 minutes. After a rather tough play, Floresta Negra FC's Gernando Rocha got a free kick in the 27th minute. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Dolar in the 41st minute of play. When Andy Cole came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dale Dolar to make the kick off. A well-hit corner resulted in Carlos Fernando Azevedo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Marcos Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Jardel Lewandowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egun Pais didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dale Dolar went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution.
