Zheng Jian Yi made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Leon Eleazar sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafli Leonard got free with Zheng Jian Yi in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute of the match, Rafli Leonard tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zheng Jian Yi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to FC Chorchoj getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Moisés Santana hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Lions United's Leon Eleazar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zheng Jian Yi. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. Zheng Jian Yi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pan Jian Yong, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Lions United getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Leon Eleazar hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Lions United's Leon Eleazar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Vic Angelsø might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steve De Wilde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vic Angelsø ran back to his position shaking his head.
