When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Guido Vissenaeken sped through Los kyes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vidal. Brugge United's Vítor Baia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nderim Pepo in the 25th minute of play. Julio Vidal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dacian Hrean in the 32nd minute. In the 32nd minute, Brugge United's Dacian Hrean dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los kyes's goalkeeper Julio Vidal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Brugge United made a substitution. Waud Huijbrechts replaced Jaspar Van Den Broeck. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nderim Pepo to make the kick off. Julio Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 58th match minute, Los kyes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Bergström to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Arnauld Van Impe notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Los kyes's Julio Vidal. Julio Vidal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Los kyes made a substitution. Quirze Vera replaced Ronaldão de Amaral. A sloppy throw-in by Iker Quintin in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Brugge United's Ümit Karan. A collision led to Los kyes getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. After some careless play in the Los kyes defense, Arnauld Van Impe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vidal. The Los kyes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vidal should have stopped the shot. Julio Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnauld Van Impe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Ümit Karan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0.
