Doriva Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 8th minute of play. Vítor Baia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Urbanovský's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Blažej Gogoľ threw the ball into play from the sideline. Brugge United's Dacian Hrean quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Guido Vissenaeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 18 minutes into the match, V.K.DRINK Hermanovce's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Doriva Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, V.K.DRINK Hermanovce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juraj Markuš to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of V.K.DRINK Hermanovce booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Louis Rijniers didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doriva Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Waud Huijbrechts went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Stano Štoch managed to get in a good position for a shot. V.K.DRINK Hermanovce's supporters rose to their feet, but Stano Štoch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Baia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Guido Vissenaeken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, V.K.DRINK Hermanovce's Gabriel Urbanovský ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Brugge United succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though V.K.DRINK Hermanovce had controlled the match.
