The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jose Boldu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Morales in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Jose Boldu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Zoil Pequeño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Zoil Pequeño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Zoil Pequeño who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cougars FC's Arnoud de Pelsmakere was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehat Kovaçi got free with Jose Boldu in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Cougars FC's Bianco Natale got a free kick in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 55th minute, Zoil Pequeño left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo ScrugenFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cougars FC's Arnoud de Pelsmakere proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Cougars FC from getting a goal against them. Jose Boldu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehat Kovaçi in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Zoil Pequeño cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Arnoud de Pelsmakere was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the match, Cougars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zoil Pequeño came free, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Deportivo ScrugenFC defense, Mehat Kovaçi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Boldu. The Deportivo ScrugenFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Boldu should have stopped the shot. Cougars FC's Steffen Gimlinge was substituted for Mehat Kovaçi. Cougars FC made a substitution. Eustaquio Mede replaced Fiori Guimarães. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo ScrugenFC's zone, Steffen Gimlinge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Boldu came out of the goal and Steffen Gimlinge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute Gerardo Nesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Boldu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Boldu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Nesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Nesto in the 81st minute of play forced Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Jose Boldu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Cougars FC's Gerardo Nesto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Boldu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
