The ball went over the crossbar instead. 8 minutes into the match, Lex Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolo Basualdo came free, but Tomáš Houdek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Lex Academy defense, Bartolo Basualdo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomáš Houdek. The Lex Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomáš Houdek should have stopped the shot. If Bartolo Basualdo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nils Gielis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomáš Houdek having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Cleto Trasagua threw the ball into play from the sideline. Lex Academy's Mojmír Houška quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Bartolo Basualdo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartolo Basualdo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomáš Houdek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cleto Trasagua fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Popolizio FBC's protests and gave Cleto Trasagua a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Lex Academy's Otmar Schovánek got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bartolo Basualdo to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the game, Bernardo Novaes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hermann Hesse was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Tibor Nyilasi was substituted for Nils Gielis. 63 minutes into the match, Lex Academy's Paco Arzola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hermann Hesse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erruki Velarroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomáš Houdek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erruki Velarroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A collision led to Lex Academy getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Miloslav Krupička hit a great ball. In the 72nd match minute, Lex Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miloslav Krupička to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Lex Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Joao Montanez came free, but Tomáš Houdek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erruki Velarroa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Tomáš Houdek made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erruki Velarroa in the 82nd minute of play forced Lex Academy's goalkeeper Tomáš Houdek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Hermann Hesse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lex Academy's Miloslav Krupička quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Egoi Costeras, made in the 85th minute of the game. In the 88th minute Joao Montanez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomáš Houdek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
