The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovanildo Luis got free with Sebastian Hellkvist in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Haji Sarap didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jörn Svartengren went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A sloppy throw-in by Xavier Zanetti in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Joinville City - FSCMZ's Drew Zaelani. Joinville City - FSCMZ's attentive Drew Zaelani managed to snatch the ball when Xavier Zanetti made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. In the 31st minute, Geovanildo Luis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sebastian Hellkvist. The goal made the score 1-2. 40 minutes into the game, Hector Andriesens threw the ball into play from the sideline. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Henrique Camargo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Jörn Svartengren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Inter de Guayaquil FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
