A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. İlhami Akyazıcı hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- defense, Hector Hugo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Chiuzbaian. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Chiuzbaian should have stopped the shot. Zhao Sen Yang might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurel Crivoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zhao Sen Yang ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Aurel Crivoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If İlhami Akyazıcı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Ivan Chiuzbaian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Hugo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. When Zhao Sen Yang came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhao Sen Yang couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Grigore Maghiran got a free kick in the 58th minute. The shot was a little too simple and Ivan Chiuzbaian could save by the left post. 65 minutes into the game, Hector Hugo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ivan Chiuzbaian. Hector Hugo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Bernt Offendahl was substituted for Alfred Mossberg. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Cătălin Tudoran was substituted for Stasio Bienienda. 71 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Grau came free, but Aurel Crivoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Ivan Chiuzbaian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aurel Crivoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Sen Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang managed to work through Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Zhao Sen Yang dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Hermansson in the 87th minute of play. Mugurel Pandele scored 1-3 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurel Crivoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aurel Crivoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute, Hjalmar Sjöö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Hermansson. The Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
