Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaristo de Lima. 9 minutes into the game, Agostinho Guedes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vitor José. Agostinho Guedes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Marquez got free with Vitor José in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The nice shot from Laerte Marquez in the 17thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Vitor José had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Vitor José took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as 卡納里尼奧 FC's Agostinho Guedes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vitor José. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 27th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Túlio Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, João Carlos Gaspar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 卡納里尼奧 FC the free kick. Vitor José was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Evaristo de Lima. After 35 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Duarte. Agostinho Guedes succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. Vitor José acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Evaristo de Lima. In the 45th minute Agostinho Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitor José saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes 卡納里尼奧 FC got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Paes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agostinho Guedes to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to 卡納里尼奧 FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Amílton Marinho hit a great ball. With a little luck, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Carlos Marinho got control of the ball when Jonas Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonas Veloso scored 3-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Marinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Vitor José played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 63rd minute of play. Agostinho Guedes succeeded in the game's 63rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laerte Marquez in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vitor José saved S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting behind. Vitor José came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by 卡納里尼奧 FC's Agostinho Guedes. But to his dismay, Agostinho Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Ivo Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 74th minute of the match Evaristo de Lima sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitor José skillfully saved the ball. If Laerte Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of 卡納里尼奧 FC booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor da Costa hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Marquez came free, but Vitor José reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Agostinho Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitor José saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitor José made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Guedes in the 92nd minute of play. 卡納里尼奧 FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul for a fine match.
